The right EHR vendor can make meaningful use simpler for specialists
Achieving meaningful use while implementing an EHR system that satisfies all of their practice's needs can be a bit more of a challenge for specialists. However, taking care to choose the right EHR vendor may simplify the process.
For example, the St. Paul Eye Clinic, PA in Minnesota recently selected SRS to help them meet the government's meaningful use regulations. Joseph Drannen, an administrator at the practice said the software would be used by the 15 providers across the company's seven offices.
He said they chose SRS because the software options made available would simplify the process of reaching meaningful use certification while supporting efficiency and quality around the office.
"We know that with the SRS EHR, we will successfully earn the government's meaningful use incentives," Drannen said.
In the past, ophthalmologist groups have expressed concern that the meaningful use rules do not necessarily function in harmony with the unique processes of their practices. However, by choosing an appropriate EHR vendor, these specialists can meet all of the regulations while still offering top quality patient care.
